&lt;p&gt;I found your blog post when looking for information about SyncRepl from a
client application point of view. I share your concern about the &amp;quot;yet to be
done&amp;quot;, but I do think that the path already covered is huge compared to the
situation one year ago, when each server used to use its own replication
scheme.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Moreover, from a Java dev point of view, we already have two Java LDAP SDK
which support SyncRepl: ApacheDS and UnboundID. That's a good sign of adoption
of the standard &lt;img src=&quot;/themes/default/smilies/smile.png&quot; alt=&quot;:)&quot; class=&quot;smiley&quot; /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I just published a showcase application that explains how to use these two
